7 days Gorillas, Chimpanzees and Rwenzori Hike
Day 1. Arrival at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to Kibale forest National Park.
Meet your guide at the Airport and start a 7 to 8 hour drive to the western part of Uganda heading to Kibale national park. On your way, you pass through the interesting villages, markets plus the tea plantations. You will have lunch in fort portal and then continue towards the Lodge to relax and have dinner. Overnight Nkuruba Lodge.
Day 2. Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Rwenzori Mountain.
After breakfast drive for 20 minutes to the Kanyanchu headquarters for briefing. After briefing you will head to the forest with the ranger guide to trek a certain group of chimpanzee. After meeting the chimpanzee, you will have to use your time well because you are granted one hour to interact with the Chimpanzees. Kibale national park also holds a number of other primates that will accompany your chimpanzee experience like red tailed monkey, black and white monkey, vervet monkeys plus other mammals like bushbucks, bush pigs, buffaloes among others and after transfer to mountain Rwenzori via the Kasenda Crater Lake with magnificent scenery for photography as you continue to Rwenzori Mountain. Overnight Ruboni Community Camp.
Day 3. Trek the Rwenzori Mountain and a night in the Mountain.
This day you start your hike with the guide to the Rwenzori Mountains. Here you pass through the forests, waterfalls, hardy rocks as you move towards the icy areas of the mountain. The hike to Rwenzori also grants you chances of seeing primates like colobus, vervet monkeys, Lo’hoest monkey plus other animals like forest elephants, Rwenzori Turaco, chameleons and after the trek you have a night in the mountain.
Day 4. Descend the mountain and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park for a night.
After having your breakfast, you start to slope down from the mountain as you continue to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountain plus the sounds of birds plus seeing more monkeys jumping over the branches of trees and then after transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park to relax from your long hike and have a night there. Overnight at Pumba Safari Cottages.
Day 5. Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.
After breakfast, prepare for a long day drive for about 6 to 7 hours to Bwindi impenetrable national park. You will have lunch the way at Topi Lodge continue to Bwindi. On your way, you pass through cultivated hills with magnificent views and the thick forests giving you chances to see primates like Lo’hoest monkeys, colobus, and blue monkey as you continue to the lodge for relaxation and a night. Overnight Buhoma community camp.
Day 6. Gorilla trekking and transfer to Bunyonyi.
After breakfast you drive to the Buhoma offices for briefing and after you will put in a group of maximum 8 people with the ranger guides and head into the forest to trek the gorillas. Mark that the gorillas are un predictable as they always move from place to place so you have to prepare for a long day walk. After meeting the gorillas, you are given only one hour to with them so you have to use your time well and take as more photos as you want. After trekking transfer to Lake Bunyonyi to relax on the islands of the lake with magnificent views and cool breathes. Overnight Bunyonyi Eco Resort.
Day 7. Transfer to Entebbe international Airport for a flight.
You drive for about 8 hours to Entebbe and you make a stopover at the equator for photos and lunch and then continue to Entebbe for an evening flight.
