Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi
“Journey to the Impenetrable Forest”
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala. You will meet your expert driver-guide and embark on a scenic drive southwest through the beautiful Ugandan countryside.
- Highlights en-route: You will pass through the fascinating Equator line where you can stop for photos and experiments. Continue through the grasslands of the Western Rift Valley, with stops at panoramic viewpoints overlooking lakes and rolling hills.
- Arrival: You will arrive at your lodge in Bwindi in the late afternoon or early evening, depending on the route chosen.
- Evening: Check in, freshen up, and enjoy a delicious dinner. Your guide will brief you on what to expect for the main trekking day.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Day
“The Main Event: One Hour with Giants”
This is the day you have been waiting for. After an early breakfast, pack your day bag and head to the park headquarters with your packed lunch.
- 08:00 AM: Arrive at the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park offices for a briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will be assigned to a specific gorilla family based on your group’s fitness level.
- The Trek: Enter the forest with your experienced guides, trackers, and armed rangers. The trek can last from 1 to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas nested the previous night. You will hike through dense vegetation, steep hills, and lush vines—truly earning the encounter.
- The Encounter: Once the gorillas are located, you will spend a sacred one hour observing them. Watch the silverback protect his family, see the youngsters play, and witness the gentle nature of these majestic creatures.
- Descend: After the trek, you will hike back to the base. You will receive a certificate of participation before being transferred back to your lodge.
