The 4 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Tour in Uganda is a perfect primate adventure combining two of Africa’s most incredible wildlife encounters. This safari takes you to Kibale National Park, known as the primate capital of the world, and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

You will experience chimpanzee trekking, mountain gorilla trekking, scenic landscapes, and rich biodiversity while traveling through southwestern Uganda. This tour is ideal for travelers seeking a short but unforgettable wildlife experience.

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park – The Primate Capital

Your safari begins with pickup from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. Begin the scenic drive westwards toward Kibale National Park.

Along the way enjoy views of tea plantations, traditional villages, and beautiful countryside landscapes. Kibale Forest is famous for hosting over 13 primate species, including chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and red-tailed monkeys.

You may take an optional evening walk in the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, known for birds and primates.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking – Transfer to Bwindi Forest

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing by rangers from the Uganda Wildlife Authority.

Enter the rainforest of Kibale National Park to search for the wild chimpanzees. Once located, you will spend one hour observing these intelligent primates as they feed, groom, and communicate.

After lunch, drive south through the beautiful landscapes of southwestern Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for mountain gorillas.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Today is the highlight of your safari. After breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The trek can take 2–6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location. When the gorilla family is found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat. Watching these gentle giants interact in the forest is one of the most powerful wildlife experiences on Earth.

After the trek, return to your lodge for relaxation.
