Day 1: Kigali City – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel or the airport in Kigali. If time allows, you may visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial for a brief historical tour.

Afterward, begin a scenic drive through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside toward the Uganda border at Cyanika or Katuna. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Arrive at the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing from rangers of the Uganda Wildlife Authority about gorilla trekking rules and safety.

Enter the dense rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take 2–6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location.

Once you find them, you will spend one magical hour observing the gorillas as they feed, play, and interact in their natural habitat. This close encounter with mountain gorillas is one of the most powerful wildlife experiences in Africa.

Return to the lodge for relaxation and dinner.

Day 3: Return to Kigali

After breakfast, begin the drive back to Kigali. Enjoy scenic views of rolling hills, terraced farms, and local villages along the way.
